FAQ
Start with your studio’s required dancewear, shoes, and tights. Add a dance bag, warm-up layers, a water bottle, a towel, and hair accessories. Check your class list before buying supplies so you can prepare for each discipline.
Ballet classes typically call for ballet slippers, tap classes require tap shoes, and jazz classes often use jazz shoes. Other classes may have different footwear requirements. Follow your instructor’s guidance and pack a separate pair for each class that requires one.
Keep shoes in separate compartments or shoe bags, and use a small pouch for hair ties, pins, and other accessories. Pack a fresh set of required dancewear and a separate bag for worn clothing. Arrange your supplies around your class schedule so essentials stay easy to reach.
Follow the care instructions for each item, since fabrics and shoe materials need different treatment. Remove worn dancewear from your bag after class and let shoes air out before storing them. Avoid leaving damp supplies packed overnight.
Look for requirements covering leotard styles, tights, bottoms, shoe types, and colors. Some studios also specify warm-up layers and hair arrangements. Review the guidelines for each class, since requirements can differ by discipline and level.
